Arlington Schools, Police Announce New Student Safety Partnership

Arlington Public Schools and the Arlington Police Department this week announced a new partnership aimed at increasing safety for students, one of two fresh district updates posted as the school year approaches.

Arlington Public Schools said it is partnering with the Arlington Police Department on an initiative to increase student safety, according to a district announcement posted this week. Few specifics were released beyond the announcement itself, and the district did not immediately detail what the partnership will involve day to day.

The district also reported that reusable serviceware is rolling out across APS schools, part of what appears to be an ongoing push tied to the district's sustainability efforts. The rollout comes as the district's Sept. 2 start date for most schools draws near.
