The Town of Arlington announced details for the Nov. 3 State Election, including polling hours, a changed voting entrance for two precincts and deadlines for mail ballots.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters in Precincts 5 and 7 cast ballots at the Gibbs School, where the voting entrance is now on Tufts Street at the back corner of the building. The town said it may be more convenient to park on the street rather than in the parking lot.

Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned to ballot drop boxes or delivered to the Office of the Town Clerk until 8 p.m. on Election Day, though the town urged voters to return ballots before 6 p.m. Ballots received after 6 p.m. will not be counted on Election Day. Under state regulations, those late ballots will be held by the Town Clerk and hand counted Nov. 10, along with ballots received in the mail by 5 p.m. Nov. 6 that were postmarked on or before Nov. 3.

Residents are encouraged to use Track My Ballot to confirm the Clerk's Office received their returned ballot. Once a ballot is accepted, a voter cannot choose to vote in person. If a ballot has not been received or has been rejected, for example due to a missing signature, the voter may cast a ballot in person at their precinct on Election Day.

The 2026 Information for Voters booklet, covering the nine statewide questions on the Nov. 3 ballot, is available online for residents who cannot find the printed version mailed to Massachusetts households in mid-September.
