Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) · Meeting of September 9, 2026

ARLINGTON — The Transportation Advisory Committee unanimously approved no-U-turn sign locations for East Arlington's Mass Avenue between Everett and Thorndike/Teel streets, with a condition that an alternate post-mounted plan be prepared if mast-arm mounting proves infeasible. Scott Smith and Joe Solomon presented approximately 14 locations, primarily on traffic signal mast arms. Bill Copithorne and Elizabeth Maldari agreed to gather information on sign-mounting reliability from neighboring communities and contractors.

The committee discussed but did not vote on Elizabeth Maldari's proposed Safe Routes to School grant application, due September 25, seeking up to $14,000 in reimbursement for signage improvements at seven intersections near Stratton School.
