Arlington Conservation Commission Continues Two Hearings, Advances Mount Gilboa Planning

ARLINGTON — March 5, 2026 — Arlington Conservation Commission continues two wetlands hearings and revisits a stalled feasibility study for town-owned Mount Gilboa. The commission, chaired by Chuck Terroni, voted unanimously to continue a notice of intent for 10 College Avenue to March 19 and a second notice of intent for 26 Dudley Street — which proposes demolition of a detached structure and construction of two additions near Mill Brook — to April 16. A planned vote to release escrow funds for 34 Dudley Street was skipped after Environmental Planner David Morgan said the applicant had not provided requested materials. In the meeting's longest discussion, Terroni pressed for action on a completed CPA-funded feasibility study for Mount Gilboa, saying "it's just hanging out there," and the commission informally agreed to hold an internal deliberation in approximately May 2026 before re-engaging the public. Commissioner Nathaniel Stevens also raised an unresolved encroachment at Sims Woods, where a neighboring patio and fence extend roughly 52 square feet onto conservation restriction land, with commissioners divided on whether a recorded time-limited easement or enforcement action is the right path forward.
