Arlington Conservation Commission re-elects Terroni as chair, advances country club wetlands filings

ARLINGTON — February 5, 2026 — Arlington Conservation Commission unanimously re-elected Chuck Terroni as chair and Susan Chapnick as vice chair for two-year terms at its February 5 remote meeting. The commission also continued two Winchester Country Club Notices of Intent to February 19, with applicant engineer Sarah Stearns of Beals and Thomas confirming a net increase of 4,800 square feet of impervious surface in Arlington's riverfront zone and a mitigation planting ratio of roughly 7.5 to one along Herbert Meyers Brook; commissioners directed the club to expand its invasive species management plan to cover all invasives in perpetuity and to trigger a return appearance if invasive cover exceeds 15 percent of any restored area. A multi-year enforcement case at 66 and 66R Dudley Street was continued to March 5 after engineer Al Gala of Gala Simon and Associates presented a revised gabion wall and planting plan, with commissioners still requiring a recorded maintenance easement, a formal operation and maintenance agreement, and a vegetated buffer strip before the case can close. The commission voted unanimously to issue a certificate of compliance for 102-104 Milton Street after confirming a three-year planting monitoring period was complete, and deferred a proposed independent fisheries study of Hills Pond to the Water Bodies Working Group for further vetting.
