Arlington Water Passes Annual Safety Test as Bus Fleet Grows
Arlington's public water supply has passed its annual safety testing, while the town continues expanding its electric school bus fleet as part of a broader sustainability push.

The town regularly monitors drinking water from 20 high-risk properties for lead and copper contamination as part of routine compliance efforts, a step officials say helps ensure the safety of the municipal water supply.
Separately, yard waste collection has faced delays this week after the town's waste and recycling contractor, WM, did not dispatch collection as scheduled. The town said it is working to make up for the missed collection day.

Arlington Public Schools is expanding its electric vehicle fleet, having secured funding to add a fourth electric school bus to the district. The addition is part of the town's Net-Zero Action Plan, which aims to transition Arlington's entire municipal vehicle fleet to electric power over time.
The district is also seeking additional crossing guards to help students safely travel to and from school. The Arlington School Committee has a special retreat meeting scheduled for July 11 at the district office.
