ARLINGTON — January 27, 2026 — Arlington Zoning Board closes hearing on Reed Street porch special permit, final vote set for February 10. The Arlington Zoning Board of Appeals voted 5-0 on January 27 to close the public hearing for a special permit application from Bosina LLC for an open, unenclosed front porch at 26 Reed Street, a property already nonconforming at 19.9 feet from the front lot line against a 25-foot setback requirement. Chair Christian Klein walked the board through all seven required special permit findings, concluding the 4-foot-deep, 36-foot-long porch fits the character of the street and meets every statutory test. Member Hanlon, who agreed to draft the written decision, argued the application should be evaluated under bylaw sections 5.3.9(A) and 5.3.9(D) for a "clean opinion."
