Arlington Conservation Commission Continues Dudley Street Hearing Over Unresolved Stormwater Issues

ARLINGTON — May 21, 2026 — Arlington Conservation Commission sends Millbrook-area commercial project back over stormwater gaps. The commission voted 4-0 Thursday to continue a notice-of-intent hearing for 26 Dudley Street to June 25, finding that revised materials submitted by consultant Nicole Ferrara of LEC Environmental Consultants failed to address several deficiencies identified at the case's first hearing in December 2025. Acting Chair Susan Chapnick, filling in for absent Chair Chuck Tironi, told the applicant that the revised stormwater report used standard NOAA Atlas 14 mean rainfall values rather than the upper confidence limit required by Arlington's local bylaw — citing a gap of more than three inches in the 100-year storm figure alone. The commission also cited missing seasonal high groundwater documentation, no written response to DEP's technical comments, and an inadequate snow storage plan for a site that falls entirely within the 200-foot Millbrook riverfront buffer. In a separate discussion, the commission directed Save Arlington Wildlife representative Laura Kiesel to submit a written proposal for placing wildlife cameras at Arlington Great Meadows before the commission will forward a recommendation to the Select Board, which holds title to the property.
